Skyward Sword Zelda Remake Work Log

It did take a long time, but I finally got around remaking my Skyward Sword Zelda cosplay. I wasn't really happy with some of the parts, so I took my time revising them. I also made Zelda's lyre.
My old bangles were way too big, so I decided to make some new ones. I bought some cheap plastic bangles and painted them green with acrylic paint. After they were dry, I finished them off with some clear acrylic gloss.
I thought that the pieces of my old belt were a little to big and didn't look very clean, so I used wooden circles that I found at the craft store. This way the belt looks way neater. I glued the wooden circles onto craft foam circles. When it was all dry, I covered the elements with a layer of primer, so that the acrylic paint can adhere to the wooden circles. Finally I painted the elements of the belt with gold acrylic paint and a clear acrylic gloss and attached them with some thin wire.
I got the pattern for the lyre from Lya-Yuki on deviantart. I simply resized it and printed it out. The core of my lyre is a thin piece of wood that I cut out according to the pattern that I printed out. I cut out two pieces of foam (approximately 1 inch thick) which I formed using a knife and sand paper. Then I glued the two pieces of foam on either side of the wooden core and hid the transitions with a filling paste.

Afterwards I cut the pattens into the lyre and smoothed out everything with a fine sand paper. Finally, I painted the lyre with gold acrylic paint and a clear acrylic gloss. I threaded the strings through the holes and glued them to the inner part of the lyre with the help of super glue.
The wig is an 80cm long, yellowish blonde wig which I got from wigisfashion. A wig tutorial can be found here ^_^
