It was my first time sewing a teddy bear, so I took a long time
figuring out how the heck to interpret the pattern. But once I got the
hang of it (aka watching some youtube videos on how to sew a teddy), it
was actually pretty easy.
First I transferred all the pattern pieces onto my fabric and cut them
out. Then I sewed all the pieces together, leaving a small opening at
the bottom. I stuffed it using fiberfill and then closed the seams.
My hairclips are made from the same fabric as my Monokuma. This wasn't
exactly easy, as I had to sew tiny pieces of fabric by hand. In the end,
I had the feeling that the hairclips took longer than my Monokuma. When
I was finished with sewing, I glued a hairpin to each of the little
bears, so that they can be attached to the wig.
I spent hours and hours trying to find a fabric for the skirt that
looked like the one in the game or the anime. Well, I didn't find any.
In the end I used a simple red tartan fabric that sure isn't perfect,
but it was alright for the situation. For my remade version I purchased a
long red and black pleated skirt and shortened it. I cheated with the
blouse and bought one from New Yorker. For my remade version I sewed my
own. The
blazer is made of a heavy cotton jersey and is closed with the help of
four red buttons. The white details on the arms and on the front are
embroidered. For the tie, I bought a simple white tie and painted it
with black fabric paint. The red circle is also embroidered. The bow is
made of some red cotton fabric which I found in my fabric box. Here's a
look at the details:
For
the buttons I just used some old buttons and painted them. Then I
sealed in the color with some clear acrylic gloss. This isn't the ideal
method, but I didn't have a button machine.
The wig is from CC Kids Store on ebay. Even though it was really cheap, I really liked the quality of the wig. I only had to trim the bangs a bit.
